Unboxing and Initial Impressions on Huawei Watch GT 2e

Ever since ECQ was implemented in Luzon, I really made time to be active every once in a while at home.

After many months of hyping up the public, finally Huawei revealed the p40 series and along side a new smartwatch dubbed as Huawei Watch GT 2e. It’s a new variant of the watch GT 2 featuring sportier design and more affordable than it’s predecessors.

Unboxing:

The Huawei Watch GT 2e, Type-c cable and watch dock, and the user manual.

Style:

The Huawei Watch GT2e features a new look, that in the end resembles the 46mm GT2 watch. It is built around a 1.39-inch AMOLED display with 454×454 pixels of resolution and comes with thicker bezels. The watch measures 53.0 x 46.8mm and comes with a stainless steel case.

What I got is the graphite black. As per the design, I like the minimalist and sporty look of the GT 2e. The size fits perfectly on my small wrist and the strap is breathable even getting sweaty when I exercise.

Radial patterns bezel on the surface subtly reflect light, creating a mesmerising effect that changes with the angle of light shone on the watch. It also has 2 push button on the right and also supports touch, touch and hold functionality.

I also like the fact that the watch can be customized, HUAWEI WATCH GT 2e comes with nearly 200 watch faces for the users to choose from.

HUAWEI WATCH GT 2e comes in four colourways, adding Mint Green and Icy White – two neutral tones – to the original Graphite Black and Lava Red options.

Comprehensive fitness tracking

It features 100 workout modes and has automatic workout detection. Outdoor sports like running, climbing, open water swimming, triathlon and etc., ; indoor sports such as free training, elliptical and rowing machine; and 15 professional workout modes that can track another 85 types of sports in six categories, including extreme, leisure, aquatics, fitness, ball game and winter sports. Huawei let us explore around and have more inspirations to try new sports.

When the user starts a workout, the watch can automatically detect, and the user only needs to confirm the workout type then start with no additional settings. Once the workout is finished, tap the End button and the watch will stop tracking and generate an analysis for the user.

INTIMATE HEALTH FEATURES

The Watch GT2e features a SpO2 sensor, (also means peripheral capillary oxygen saturation) that gives you the estimate of the amount of oxygen in the blood.

It provides accurate heart rate monitoring because of the all-new self-developed TruSeen™ 3.5 heart rate monitoring technology. Combined with AI smart heart rate algorithms, heart rate monitoring is now faster and more accurate.

HUAWEI WATCH GT 2e monitors stress and sleep quality monitoring.

According to the Huawei fact sheet, the Huawei Watch GT2e can deliver 14 days battery life thanks to the power-efficient Kirin A1 SoC. It can also hold 30 hours if you’re using GPS. For music listening via Bluetooth, the battery will hold 24 hours of usage. To fully charge the unit, you would need to charge it for less than 2 hours.

To get started, you can download the Huawei Health App FREE on Google Play or Apple Store. Once downloaded, all you need to do is to open the bluetooth, look for the smartwatch model on the app, connect and pair it.
