StyleFestPH 2019 highlights Filipino creativity and craftsmanship

Now the hard work begins!

Eight finalists will start a two-month Designer Mentorship Program (DMP) with some of the leading names in the fashion industry as their mentors with StyleFestPH 2019 going full blast this September at the Grand Hyatt Manila, BGC.

The eight finalists — Ia Coca, Neil Anthonie, Adrian Sagahun, Bessie Besana, Justine Llarena, Bea Guerrero, Einar Nicdao and Austeen Soriano — will now go to the next and most important phase in their careers as they learn from fashion icon Inno Sotto;  fashion darling  Carl Jan Cruz; fashion stylist Sidney Yap; Paulo Campos, Zalora founder and CEO; and Leah De Guzman, head of 0917 Lifestyle.  The eight finalists will present their line in the runway on November 5. Two winners, one each,  will be chosen to collaborate with  0917 Lifestyle and Zalora.

StyleFestPH 2019, a project created by 0917 Lifestyle, the tech and fashion brand of Globe and SAGA Events, the country’s premier events company, aims to celebrate and cultivate Filipino creativity and craftsmanship. Only on its second year, StyleFestPH has become one of the country’s biggest fashion events of 2019.

“Globe Telecom,  through 0917 Lifestyle, has always been supportive in the development of the country’s fashion industry– its new blood, the awe-inspiring ideas and the bold designs that keep it alive. StyleFestPH 2019 is our way to give our young designers a venue to express their creativity and provide them the means to reach a wider local audience and even the international market,” Leah De Guzman, Head of 0917 Lifestyle, says.

Aside from the DMP, StyleFestPH 2019 offers a wide array of activities that include trend talks, designers on spotlight, runway shows and shopping parties from November 4, 5 and 6, 2019.

Beyond the clothing, guests can also gain insights and inspirations from the industry’s success stories through the “Designers on Spotlight.” This will highlight important aspects of fashion and digital business. The first part dubbed “Roots” will focus support for local artisans and in promoting the use of culturally rich clothing such as jusi and t’nalak featuring designers Paloma Zobel, Chris Nick and Mark Bumgarner on November 4.

Boom Sason, on the other hand, will talk about promoting and championing body confidence through the way she designs her line on November 5, while Bang Pineda takes the limelight on November 6.

The three-day fashion event also will also have its unique ”see now buy now” aspect after each runway show. Selected items from existing collections of the five designers will also  be available for purchase by the audience.

Finally, Fashion SNOOPS will share its fashion forecasts that will shape the consumer market on November 6. Fashion Snoops, a global trend forecasting company, will also provide fashion industry movers the knowledge how to strategize and make a campaign work.
