It’s truly the fact that the one brand brought the Selfie revolution here in the Philippines is none other than the ASUS ZenFone. When there were rumors that the ASUS will bring back the ZenFone Selfie, I felt ecstatic. The Selfie model is the one thing they missed out when they launched the ZenFone 3. I am so excited to share with you my unboxing of the ZenFone 4 Selfie. It’s definitely the era of dual cameras and ASUS finally joined the bandwagon.
ZenFone 4 Selfie is the successor of the original ZenFone Selfie which was released two years ago. When I attended the launch of the ZenFone 4 in SMX Convention, it was one of the ASUS phone models that was most awaited by the fans. After two long years, the wait is finally over. They even surprised us with a bang because Gong Yoo is the newest brand ambassador of ZenFone 4!
The new packaging of the ZenFone 4 Selfie is minimalist white. It also comes with the new logo of ASUS which has a rainbow shine effect. This is also nice because the all-white effect of the box makes it look classier and it highlighted the phone brand.
Inside the box, there are the phone accessories such as a pair of earphones, extra ear buds, SIM ejector, micro USB cable, wall plug and the clear silicone case, that’s good news right? No more hassle of looking for a case because it’s now included as free. hooray!
I immediately got amazed when I first held the device. This one sports a 5.5-inch IPS display at a 1280 x 720 resolution. Above the screen are the dual 20MP + 8MP front cameras, dedicated LED flash, and the call speaker. At the bottom, there’s the non-lit LED capacitive touch buttons. The home button serves also as a fingerprint scanner and is fast responsive.
Flipping at the back you can see the 16MP rear camera, the LED flash and the ASUS logo in the middle. One thing I noticed was that you can obviously see the fingerprints and dusts that’s why it needs some frequent cleaning.
Going to the right side, there sits the volume rocker and the power buttons while the left side houses the dual nano-SIM tray with a dedicated microSD card slot.
On the top of the device is where you can find the headphone jack and the call microphone. Down below are the two audio grills, one for the speaker and the other is for the microphone. For phone charging, it is via the microUSB port.
Overall, I am not that suprise with the aesthetics since it does look like the previous model, ZenFone 3 Max. However, one thing that I really looked forward for is the selfie performance of it. This is the first time that ASUS incorporated the dual selfie camera and I am really excited to have it tested and have a thorough review of it so stay tuned!
